About
Ben accepts briefs in criminal and disciplinary matters, regulatory proceedings, civil and commercial litigation, and public law.
Before joining the Bar, Ben worked for a Commonwealth regulator where he was involved in litigation before the Federal Court and Federal Circuit and Family Court involving contraventions of employment and industrial legislation. He also worked at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (SA) where he acted in significant criminal trials and appeals.
Ben has appeared as junior counsel in trials before the Supreme Court, and as presenting counsel in trials before the District Court and Magistrates Court. He has also appeared in contested hearings before the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, and in interlocutory and civil penalty hearings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court.
Ben is experienced in appellate matters. He has appeared as both presenting counsel and junior counsel in the Court of Appeal, and as junior counsel in a number of hearings in the High Court of Australia.
Ben is currently completing a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne, focusing on commercial and public law.
